Hi all,

Well the months are just flying fast now. Another busy month with Janelle currently out at Blackall Sewing for the week. Our events will start to slow down towards end of year as we concentrate on our busy Christmas period at the shop and plan for the new year. We have the Annual Biloela Christmas Market at the end of the Month we will be attending. Also, our last Workshop for the year is our Overnight Bag Workshop on the 14th November.

Info for our February 2026 Retreat will be sent out this week. Keep an eye out for it in your emails.

Biloela Christmas Craft Fair – 25th October 2025

We are exhibiting at the Biloela Annual Christmas Craft Fair. We will take a variety of Fabrics and Handmade Items. If there is anything in particular you would like us to bring, please send us an email or message. Look forward to seeing you all out there.

Overnight Bag Workshop – Friday 14th November

Janelle is teaching her Overnight Bag Pattern that she just released here at the Emu Park CWA Hall. Send us an email for all the info or to book in.

Sewing Retreats 2025/2026

Our Retreat at the Haven a few weeks ago was another successful week. Lots of fun and some awesome projects completed. Our next Haven Retreat is 16th – 20th February 2026.

We also have Weekend Retreat the first weekend of September at the CWA Hall. We have 2 spots available so reach out if you are interested and I can send you the info.

Hope you are all well. We’ve just spent a lovely long weekend sewing at the CWA with a fantastic group of ladies. Thanks to those that attended and made it such a fun and therapeutic weekend. We do have another Weekend Retreat in September. See below for all our Retreat dates.

Sewing Retreats 2025

Our next week long Retreat at the Haven is 14 ^th – 18 ^th July. Details went out last week so if you didn’t receive the email please let me know and I can resend it. We are also holding another Mini Weekend Retreat at the CWA Hall 5 – 7 ^th September. Details will come out later on.

Emu Park CWA Quilt Show – 16/17 ^th August 2025

The CWA ladies here in Emu Park are holding their Quilt Show this year which also coincides with the CWA Emu Park Centenary. Mark it in your calendar and look out for more info to come in the next few months.

Craft Alive – Rockhampton 21 ^st – 23 ^rd August 2025

Welcome to the Silly Season! We are gearing up for a busy Christmas period as well as doing lots of planning for next year. The details for our February Retreat will be out in the next few days.

Our Shop is overflowing with lots of stock so pop in and get some Christmas Shopping done. Lots of giftware and handmade items Janelle has made which makes a very unique and personal gift. We also have plenty of Fabrics, both Christmas and Novelty themed. New stock coming in regularly so follow us on Facebook to keep up to date.

Christmas Opening Night

We are hosting our Christmas Night on the 12 ^th December. Come join us for some Drinks and Nibbles, do some VIP shopping and see if you can pick up some prizes. More details coming in the next week.

Hi all,

Can’t believe it is September already. We had a huge month in August including Craft Alive in Bundaberg which was a great event. We had a family wedding last Friday then Janelle packed up Saturday and headed out to Blackall to do a week of sewing and workshops.

No time for resting when she returns, as we are coming into the busy end of year chaos. There are those organised ones getting stuck into their Christmas projects. All our Christmas fabrics have been arriving so check out our Facebook for all the new arrivals. They can be also purchased online for your convenience.

Pop Up Shop - Sew Crafts Me Retreat – Next Saturday 14th September

Next Saturday we will be attending the Sew Craft Me Retreat at Boyne Tannum Community Centre and having a Pop-Up Shop. We will be there from 9am – 1pm. Anyone from the community is welcome to come and check out our Fabric and Supplies while we are set up.

Mini Weekend Retreat – October 2024

Not long now till our Weekend Retreat in October. We have 3 spots available still, so if you would like to book in please email us ASAP. The Weekend Retreat is from the 4th – 6th October 2024 at the CWA Hall in Emu Park. Starting Friday afternoon 3pm and finishing up Sunday 4pm.

Welcome to February already. We started the year off very strong with our January Retreat which was very successful and fun for all. This month we have a Quilt Show in Rockhampton to exhibit at, then off to Craft Alive in Mackay in March. So lots of work to be done.

Our next Retreat will be 15th – 19th July so add that to your Calendar. We are in the middle of planning so keep an eye out in the next month or so for all the details.

QCWA Patchwork Retreat at Coolwaters 17-22 March 2024

Wow!! What a busy month we’ve had. We launched our NEW WEBSITE at the start of August, and are still slowly getting all our fabrics uploaded for you to purchase online. We had a stall at the CWA Destash Markets, then the week after that we had a FULL 3 days of CRAFT ALIVE in Rockhampton. But it didn’t end there. Janelle packed up again and headed to Blackall on the Monday, and did a week sewing with the ladies of the Outback.

Also got lots more planned for coming months so see below all that is coming up.

Mini Retreat @ CWA Hall Emu Park 20th – 22nd October 2023

We are hosting our first Mini Weekend Retreat in October. It will begin Friday 3pm until Sunday 3pm. It will be a chance to get some projects completed and we will be doing a small project together Saturday Morning. I have attached the flyer to this email with more info. Email me if you would like to attend.

Also the dates for our January Retreat at the Haven are 8th – 12th January 2024 . So keep them dates free if you are planning on attending.

Sew Craft Me Retreat – Boyne Tannum Community Centre

Saturday 16th September we will be having a Pop Up Shop at the Boyne Tannum Community Hall. If you aren’t attending the Retreat you are more than welcome to come and check out our Fabrics.

Hi all,

Welcome to June. Can’t believe it’s nearly half way through the year and another Sewing Retreat is just around the corner. We still have a few vacancies so please email us your booking form asap if you plan on attending. We will be putting our catering numbers in very soon.

We have also been working on a few things behind the scenes which is very exciting. I can share one, and that is our website is getting a makeover and you will be able to shop our fabrics online. Yay! So exciting and hopefully it will be up and going next month. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for further info!

Welcome to our March Newsletter. The year is already flying fast. Keep an eye out for all the July Retreat info coming out this month.

Price Increases

I’m sure all of you are aware of the ever increasing costs of products lately and unfortunately we too have been hit with increases. All our products have increased in cost to us, as well as freight for our bulky items such as Fabrics, Waddings and Interfacings have all doubled in cost. We are trying to keep costs down but need to increase prices where appropriate to ensure it is profitable and worthwhile keeping our doors open. We hope you understand and we really appreciate the support we get.

Sewing Machine Servicing – March 2023

Greg will be back this month on the 20th for machine servicing and repairs. We do have some spots available so please give us a call to book in.

Sidewalk Sale – 20th May 2023

We are planning to have a huge Sidewalk Sale on at our shop on the 20th May. Mark your calendar as you will not want to miss out on our biggest sale yet. More details to come!

July 2023 Sewing Retreat at The Haven Emu Park

Our July retreat will be from the 17th – 21st July 2023 at The Haven Emu Park. We are now offering onsite accommodation for 6 nights from the Sunday before retreat to the following Saturday morning. Janelle will be doing 3 days of workshops and we are still finalising the rest. I will be sending out an email with all the info/cost etc when we have it completed hopefully this month.

CWA De-Stash Market – August 2023

The CWA here at Emu Park have advised that they plan on having a DeStash Market Day in August. They are yet to let me know the date so once we have more info we will pass it on to you all.

We are on the countdown to Christmas and already the shop is getting busy. We have plenty of new fabrics coming in each week so keep an eye out on our Facebook for pics. Also lots of handmake stock available for those unique Christmas presents.
If you need any quilting done before Christmas please get them into us ASAP so we can have them done in plenty of time for you.

Christmas Opening Night 8 ^th December

We will again host our Christmas Opening night on the 8th December. We will be open till 7pm with drinks/nibbles. Also have some great bargains for you to take advantage of. I will send out a flyer with more info in the next week or so.

January 2023 Sewing Retreat at The Haven

All the info has been sent out for our retreat in January and it is filling up fast. If you didn’t get the info please let me know and I can send it through. Welcome to spring. Another busy month for us. We had the Emu Park CWA Quilt Show which was a huge success. Thanks to every for coming and supporting the local ladies. Janelle has just come back from a week sewing at Blackall. She had between 8 and 15 ladies throughout the week sewing and doing various projects. Some beautiful creations made.

Hope you are all well. Janelle has been very busy in the shop over the last few weeks and we are starting to get our July Retreat planned. We have been getting plenty of new stock in and some beautiful fabrics. Lots of phone orders from people across Queensland and also some interstate orders. We are very thankful for all their support. Loretta is still off on leave until May so Janelle is mainly at the shop till then. With Easter only a few weeks away we hope you all have a Happy Easter and safe travels if you are going away. Our shop hours over the Easter period are below.

Bag Workshop – 5 ^th October

We are organising a workshop to do the below bag with Fran from Ruby and Ash at the CWA hall. Keep an eye out for all the details on Facebook. Should have all the info done in the next week.

Sewing Retreat at Boyne Tannum Community Centre

Details below of a Retreat happening in October. We are not hosting so if you need more info please call or email Alicia. We will however be having a pop-up shop on the Saturday with all our fabrics and goodies.

Biloela Arts and Craft Fair – 29 ^th October 2022

We are attending and having a stall at the Biloela Craft Fair again this year at the Civic Centre. Hope to catch up with some of you there.

August 2021

Hi all, Welcome to August! Only 5 months till Christmas. Covid is still around with South East QLD in another lockdown. We hope everyone keeps safe and that it doesn’t come to that in our area. Janelle has a trip planned out to Blackall for a week of sewing from the 23rd this month. All are welcome to come sewing or even to browse the fabrics and haberdashery products she has for sale. Send me an email if you are interested and I can send you the details. Our Retreat at The Haven here in Emu Park was a blast and we were fully booked all week. Thank You so much to everyone that attended and supported us. Most of those that attended have expressed interest in coming back in January so we are glad our week was very successful. Thanks also to Steph Allen who travelled from Mackay and did a two day workshop on Textile Art. Some beautiful projects were completed. Our Next Retreat will be from the 10th – 14th January 2022.

New Fabrics

Some beautiful new Fabrics have arrived into our store in the last few weeks. A gorgeous bright Sewing Range, Australian Fabrics, Christmas fabrics and some Horse Panels. Also we have a heap of new wide backing fabrics. All fabrics get put up on our Facebook page so if you go to our photos on Facebook you can stroll through all our latest products. We can post Australia wide.
